Jana Bank AI film series

Three films. One banking brand. And a completely different way of producing content.

Our AI-led video series for Jana Bank pushed us to rethink how a brand film could be created — not with a traditional camera-first approach, but through a combination of storytelling, AI generation, visual direction and post-production.

And very quickly, we learnt something important.

Generating a visual is easy. Making it belong in a film is the real work.

It started with the story

Before opening an AI tool, we focused on one thing: the idea.

Each film needed to communicate clearly, feel relatable and still represent the trust expected from a banking brand.

So every scene was first thought through like a regular production — the character, the setting, the emotion, the camera angle and the purpose of the shot. Only then did AI enter the process.

That helped us avoid creating visuals simply because they looked impressive. Every frame had to serve the story.

The challenge was consistency

One great AI shot does not make a great film. Across three videos, maintaining consistency became one of our biggest challenges.

  • Faces could change between shots
  • Movements could feel unnatural
  • Backgrounds could shift
  • Lighting could suddenly look different

A character that looked perfect in one frame could look completely different in the next. So the process became highly iterative. We generated, reviewed, rejected, refined and generated again. Some scenes worked quickly. Others took several attempts before they felt right.

That was where the real creative direction happened.

The edit brought everything together

Once the visuals were ready, the films still needed to feel seamless. That meant shaping different AI-generated clips into one coherent experience.

Our editing team worked on pacing, transitions, sound, music, voice-over and colour to create continuity across scenes. Sometimes the solution was in the edit. Sometimes the better solution was to throw away a shot and generate it again.

That back-and-forth between AI creation and human judgement became a major part of the workflow.

AI could do more. We chose to do less.

One of the most interesting parts of this project was learning when not to push the technology.

Because this was a banking brand, the films needed to feel trustworthy, clear and relatable. AI could have made the visuals more futuristic, more dramatic or more surreal. But that was not the goal.

The goal was to make the technology invisible enough that the audience could focus on the message. That balance mattered.

What these three films taught us

The Jana Bank series was not just about experimenting with AI. It helped us build a new creative workflow — one where concept, prompting, generation, animation, editing and visual refinement all work together.

More importantly, it reminded us that technology does not replace creative thinking. AI can create the frame. But it still takes a team to decide whether that frame works. It still takes an editor to create rhythm. It still takes storytelling to make people care. And it still takes judgement to know when something is finished.

For us, these three films were a glimpse of where branded content is heading — not AI replacing filmmaking, but AI becoming another tool in the filmmaker's hands.

Our takeaway

The technology may be new. The need for a good story is not.
